Following the conclusion of Day 29 of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP), Event #60: the $50,000 Poker Players Championship (PPC), hailed as the "ultimate test of skill" in the poker world, officially entered its most crucial stage.

After three days of fierce competition, only 15 players remain in contention for the championship out of the original 108-player field. British mixed games master Benny Glaser leads the field with 4,705,000 chips, bringing him one step closer to his ninth WSOP gold bracelet.

Benny Glaser aims for his ninth gold bracelet.

Benny Glaser, widely recognized as one of the most well-rounded mixed-game players in the poker world today, has once again demonstrated remarkable consistency.

He finished second on Day 2, but made a comeback on Day 3 to top the leaderboard with 4,705,000 points.

Glaser already possesses eight WSOP bracelets and is one of the most successful players in mixed games over the past decade. A victory this time would give him his ninth career bracelet and further solidify his place in poker history.

However, the road to the championship will never be easy.

Phil Ivey continues his pursuit of his 12th gold medal.

Phil Ivey remains one of the biggest figures in this year's PPC.

The 11-time WSOP bracelet winner is ranked sixth with 2,555,000 chips, still in contention for the title.

For Ivey, the PPC championship has always been one of the most significant gaps in his professional resume.

Despite having won 11 gold bracelets and being widely regarded as one of the greatest players in poker history, he has yet to conquer this tournament known as the "King of Poker".

If he ultimately reaches the top, he will not only receive his 12th gold bracelet, but will also be the first to hold the Chip Reese Trophy, the highest honor in mixed games.

The star-studded lineup is comparable to the All-Star Game of the Championship Series.

The lineup that made it to the final 15 is nothing short of a dream.

Besides Glaser and Ivey, other notable players still on the court include:

  • Paul Volpe (4,020,000)

  • Kristopher Tong (3,305,000)

  • Nick Guagenti (2,850,000)

  • Josh Arieh (2,640,000)

  • Alex Livingston (2,530,000)

  • Jason Mercier (2,180,000)

  • Chris Brewer (1,565,000)

  • Jesse Lonis (840,000)

  • Phil Hellmuth (545,000)

In particular, Hellmuth still has a chance to win his 18th WSOP gold bracelet. Although his chip stack is short, this "poker prodigy" has always been good at creating miracles at crucial moments.

Day 3: Elimination Wave Sweeps the Field

At the start of the competition, 39 players returned to the arena.

As the competition progressed, a large number of well-known professional poker players were eliminated.

The eliminated experts include:

  • Yuri Dzivielevski

  • David “ODB” Baker

  • Jared Bleznick

  • John Racener

  • Marco Johnson

  • Gus Hansen

  • Luke Schwartz

  • Christopher Vitch

  • Eric Wasserson

  • Brian Rast

Among them, defending champion Brian Rast failed to achieve his dream of winning the championship again, ending his journey in this year's PPC prematurely.

Eric Wasserson, after being severely defeated by Roy Thung, was subsequently eliminated by Phil Ivey in the Razz project.

Over $1.34 million in prize money awaits the winner.

This year's PPC attracted 108 participants, creating a total prize pool of $5.13 million.

The remaining 15 players have all secured at least $102,474 in prize money.

The final prize money distribution is as follows:

Rankingbonus
champion$1,343,764
runner up$895,837
Third place$600,698
4th place$417,607
5th place$301,405

For all the athletes still in the competition, the real goal is clearly only the championship trophy and the gold bracelet.

Million-Dollar Manufacturing Machine Enters the Final Table

Besides the PPC, another highlight of Day 29 is Event #50: $1,500 Millionaire Maker.

After several days of intense competition, the final nine-player lineup was officially determined.

Michael Monroig leads the final table with 73,900,000 chips and is poised to win his first WSOP bracelet and a $1.25 million first-place prize.

It's worth noting that all nine players who made it to the final table have been guaranteed at least $150,068 in prize money, and the champion and runner-up will both become millionaires.

Preview of the 30th Match Day

With the PPC entering its final two days, the battle for the championship is about to reach its most intense stage.

Key highlights of Match Day 30 include:

  • Benny Glaser aims for his 9th WSOP gold bracelet.

  • Phil Ivey pursues his dream of becoming a PPC champion.

  • Phil Hellmuth strives for the 18th gold medal in history.

  • Jason Mercier returns to championship contention

  • The Millionaire Maker champion is about to be crowned.

As one of the most technically demanding tournaments in the WSOP, PPC has always been regarded as the ultimate stage for testing all-around skills.

With such a star-studded final 15 lineup, whoever ultimately wins will be one of the most prestigious champions of the 2026 WSOP.
