In the 2026 Triton Montenegro $200,000 Invitational, Spanish poker legend Adrian Mateos displayed top-level competitive form, winning the championship with an overwhelming performance and taking home a prize of $6.37 million.

This invitational tournament attracted 137 top professional poker players, with a total prize pool of $27.42 million. As the tournament entered its second day, only 12 players remained to compete for the ultimate championship.

Maher Nouira started with a chip lead, closely followed by Anatoly Zlotnikov, who had previously won the Triton event in Montenegro. Both players performed admirably but ultimately failed to win the tournament, though they each took home substantial prize money.

Exciting matches at the final table

Early in the final table, Isaac Haxton was eliminated in ninth place, winning $635,000. Ellis Pasinen, Kiat Lee, Maher Nouira, and Anatoly Zlotnikov were subsequently eliminated, with prizes ranging from $797,000 to $1,466,000.

Andre Berg went all-in pre-flop with 6♦6♣, but was countered by Ben Heath's pocket J♠J♦. Berg was eliminated before completing his straight on the river, finishing in fourth place and winning $2,357,000.

In the three-player stage, chip leader Alexey Lozuyk and Mateos engaged in a fierce battle. Heath was quickly eliminated, and Mateos demonstrated superior hand strength, successfully eliminating his opponent and gaining a chip advantage.

In the heads-up match, Lozuyk attempted a comeback, but Mateos quickly built a chip lead and ultimately won with a straight. Lozuyk finished as runner-up, earning $4,316,000, while Mateos took home a whopping $6.37 million.

Adrian Mateos solidifies his legendary status in the Super High Roller series.

This victory brings Mateos' total live tournament winnings to over $62 million, including four WSOP bracelets. His highest Super High Roller prize is nearly double the previous record, and it moves him from tenth to seventh on the Hendon Mob all-time money list.

Mateos said, "Winning this Triton Invitational was incredibly exciting. Every hand was crucial against the world's top players. I'm very happy to have won the championship."“

This victory not only reaffirms Mateos' dominance in high-stakes tournaments but also adds a significant chapter to his future prospects of being inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
