Grosvenor National Poker League: Can Bryan Taylor's lead be challenged?
Regional newsBryan Taylor leads the Grosvenor National Poker League (NPL) with 442.02 points, followed closely by Brandon Sheils and Mariusz Czech. The high-stakes and low-stakes leagues are highly competitive, and the GUKPT Luton event will offer numerous opportunities to earn points. With 2026 entering its final third, over 3,400 players have already accumulated points in the Grosvenor Casino National Poker League (NPL) by participating in qualifying events and earning prize money. Bryan Taylor (442.02 points) leads all players. Taylor has held the top spot for most of 2026, and with only four months remaining, those chasing him will have to work incredibly hard to catch up. Taylor had a surge in points between March and May, during which he widened the gap with the chasing group. During those three months, Taylor made 10 final table appearances, including three wins and seven five-figure prizes. Brandon Sheils (321.39 points) has climbed to second place in the NPL standings thanks to his outstanding performance at the GUKPT Goliath festival, though he remains about 120 points behind the seemingly untouchable Taylor. Sheils won the £1,500 High Roller (£54,130) and two days later finished as runner-up in the £2,000 Super High Roller (£31,500). These impressive results should propel Sheils to the top of the High Roller league standings; more details to follow. Mariusz Czech (313.57 points), who was in third place at the beginning of September, is on track for a £20,000 package tour by the end of the year. Yucel Eminolgu (312.00 points) and Robert Douras (304.37 points) are currently in the ranking range for the £15,000 live poker package, while Calogero Morreale (287.13 points), Aqeel Butt (278.55 points), and Keith Littlewood (277.58 points) will receive the £10,000 package if the NPL ends today.
