Texas Mike bluffed with 10-high in High Stakes Poker, creating a record pot of $4.2 million.

Regional news

Michael “Texas Mike” Moncek bluffed Eric Wasserson with 10-high in High Stakes Poker, creating a record $4,260,000 pot. Wasserson called with a flush, winning the largest cash game pot in televised and live poker history. Moncek's 10-high challenge for the largest pot in history nearly forced his opponent to fold a flush. The past four days of PokerGO live events have been fast-paced, with the same group of players battling it out at high stakes for much of the time. Moncek has participated in numerous seven-figure pots, including Friday's $1.5 million pot against Andrew Robl. All of this has paved the way for Monday's showdown, especially that hand that will go down in history. One thing is certain about this bold bluff—Texas Mike is one of the most daring high-stakes poker players of all time, both in tournaments and cash games. This aggressive style sometimes led to losses, but it also allowed him to win huge pots like never before seen. The two-time WSOP bracelet winner experienced seven-figure losses, seven-figure wins, and six-figure losses on the first three nights of high-stakes poker. On Day 4, he was just one card away from going home with a massive victory—or one fold. It all started with a seemingly harmless situation: Eric Wasserson, who had already won about $1 million that day, raised to $20,000 with 9♦7♦. He then called a 3-bet from the button to $80,000 against Texas Mike, who held 10♣7♣. The flop came 9♣K♦A♦, which didn't help Texas Mike. But he continued to attack, betting $100,000 after his opponent checked. Wasserson didn't back down, calling and seeing the turn 4♥, the situation unchanged. Moncek didn't fold. He fired again, this time betting $330,000. Wasserson called again and hit a flush on the river with a 5♦. Both players had over 1.6 million chips behind them, and the pot had swelled to $1,046,000. Texas Mike only had 10-high, but he refused to give up. The high-stakes player with more chips went all-in. Wasserson faced a difficult choice even with his flush, as he could lose to an even bigger flush. Ultimately, he judged his hand too strong to fold, so he called, winning a pot worth $4,260,000—far surpassing the record for the largest pot in High Stakes Poker history. In fact, the second-largest pot occurred this weekend when Robl hit a draw...
