Kevin Martin launches his new reality poker competition show, "Poker Wars," this weekend. Kevin Martin introduces a brand new live-action poker competition called "Poker Wars," combining poker with Big Brother-style social strategies. It will be streamed for free on YouTube and Twitch from May 21-24, with a total prize pool of CAD 50,000.

When it comes to poker and reality TV, Kevin “Kmart” Martin has established himself in both fields. The former streamer, who appeared on the hit poker show Game of Gold and won the fifth season of Big Brother Canada, is putting his expertise into practice with a brand new poker competition show called Poker Wars.

Poker Wars will be May 21-24, 2:00 PM North American Mountain Standard Time daily. It's streamed for free on KMartPoker's YouTube and Twitch channels. This is a live competition combining poker with real-life live games. The six contestants include familiar poker faces Jon Pardy, Abby Merk, Hesham "Kiero Loves You" Elkhouly, and Haven Taylor, as well as video game streamer Jake Straus and "wildcard" player Ali Kebritchi.

The show will feature betrayal, voting, elimination, alliances, and various dramatic conflicts!

"I've had this game in my head for years. I wanted a show where players not only play poker, but also understand how to manage alliances and interact with other players," said Martin, who has appeared on shows like The Traitors and The Challenge.

"I see Poker Wars as a purely passion project. It's a game I would fight tooth and nail to be a part of. But the poker world didn't have something like that. So, I assembled a great group of people, and we decided to do it ourselves! It was a huge production and an adventure, but the poker world needed this show."

He added, "We've invested a lot of time in the game design. Even if a player has bad luck, they can still survive in this game thanks to strong social and strategic thinking. The ultimate goal is to promote poker to a wider audience."

This game, funded by Martin himself, will provide 50,000 Canadian dollars The grand prize is the championship. Furthermore, he will personally serve as the host and commentator, guiding the audience through the entire process.

Program Highlights

  • The combination of Big Brother/Survivor and pokerAt its core, Poker Wars is a poker game, but players must employ social strategies similar to Big Brother. Players will compete in poker tournaments and gain an overall advantage based on their performance.

  • No GTOThis is a game about personality, table conversation, and off-table strategy. The participants are all very individualistic, and each has something they want to prove.

  • Game-changing mechanismsThe development team invited a game design expert to plan the entire experience. Various "abilities" and "turnarounds" will reward quick-thinking and adaptable players.

  • Combining physical stores with online live streamingPlayers will first compete against each other at a physical poker table before moving on to the online poker world. Viewers will be able to register for in-person online tournaments and compete against participants during the program.

"This is my dream of what a poker show should look like," Martin concluded. "It's all about the contestants and their stories. Their emotions and decisions drive everything. We'll be offering someone a huge summer prize, but they'll have to go through a lot of trials to earn it."
