Nik Airball says Daniel Negreanu will be "extremely tight" in rare cash games.

Nik Airball made some bold predictions ahead of Daniel Negreanu's first appearance on Hustler Casino Live, forecasting that the poker legend would play "super tight" in $100/$200 cash games. The two will face off on August 28.

Nik Airball doesn't seem to think Daniel Negreanu's tournament poker talent will translate into his debut at Hustler Casino Live.

This self-proclaimed "King of Los Angeles" is a regular at HCL and started trash-talking the Poker Hall of Famer more than a week before the game. Negreanu, who just had a stellar performance at the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP), will be playing in a televised cash game for the first time in many years. But this poker legend is no novice when it comes to cash games.

He used to be a regular on shows like High Stakes Poker and honed his skills at Bobby's Room in Bellagio or The Mirage in Las Vegas—places where top pros played cash games in the 1990s and early 2000s.

"Aim for his head."

Negreanu and Airball won't be playing heads-up, so this $100/$200 No-Limit Texas Hold'em cash game isn't just about the two of them. The unannounced lineup is expected to include some players Negreanu has never played against before.

But Negreanu is the main focus—a role Airball has long been accustomed to at HCL. Airball, the highest-earning player in Hustler Casino Live history, has already begun trash-talking the eight-time WSOP bracelet winner.

Airball almost exclusively plays high-stakes cash games. He has previously challenged tournament grinders, claiming they can't compete in the HCL. However, tournament players like Alex Foxen and Martin Kabrhel have indeed participated in the show during the WSOP.

But Negreanu—a GGPoker ambassador—has been a top target for HCL co-owner Ryan Feldman ever since GGPoker acquired a stake in the live show. He will finally take to the main stage at the Hustler Casino in Los Angeles on August 28 to face Airball and several other HCL regulars.

Airball isn't too confident that Negreanu will dominate cash games on his turf. He told PokerNews that he predicts the poker legend will "play super tight and barely survive, or play a few hands and then die."

Daniel Negreanu vs. Nik Airball… Is this the new rivalry poker world needs? Who will win? Will Airball's predictions come true? Or will the legend, considered one of the greatest poker players of all time, emerge victorious? All will be revealed next Friday.
