How much did the Foxen couple lose with their only draw in Super High Roller Bowl XI?

On Day 2 of the Super High Roller Bowl XI, Nick Petrangelo defeated Alex Foxen with a single out, but this caused short-stacked Kristen Foxen to miss out on the $215,000 prize. Alex Foxen still leads in chips going into Day 3.

On the second day of the $100,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl XI in Las Vegas, a fateful turn card cost the Foxen family hundreds of thousands of dollars in equity.

Alex Foxen suffered a brutal one-out defeat on the ice-cold bubble of a six-figure buy-in high roller event in the PokerGO studio, thanks to a single out from American pro Nick Petrangelo. But the real victim was Kristen Foxen, who was short-stacked and had a very good chance of making it into the money.

As a result, the six-time WSOP bracelet winner was soon eliminated, missing out on the $215,000 prize and any chance to bounce back for the trophy and the $1,125,000 jackpot.

The Foxen family's brutal upset

The Las Vegas Super High Roller Bowl XI attracted 28 participants and boasted a prize pool of $2,800,000.

Alex Foxen held a commanding chip lead with only six players remaining and just five spots in the money. When Petrangelo went all-in with pocket sixes, trailing far behind with his pocket ten, it looked like Alex's lead would only widen.

Since a 6 had already been discarded pre-flop, Petrangelo could only hope to draw his only card immediately. The board then revealed A♠ 9♠ 9♦ 6♦ 7♠, giving him a full house of 6s.

This was a minor setback for Alex Foxen, who ultimately pocketed the chip lead on Day Two, aiming for his 14th PokerGO Tour title. But for Kristen Foxen, it was a fatal blow.

"It was brutal for Alex, and it was brutal for Kristen too. She must have thought she was about to make it into the money after the flop," noted PokerGO commentator Ali Nejad.

After a few hands, "krissyb24" was eliminated by Brandon Wilson, whose A-8 could not beat Wilson's pocket 9s.

High Roller Match Results

The second day wasn't all bad for the Foxen couple. Earlier, PokerNews caught Kristen Foxen going all-in with AK and a pair of Queens, hitting a King on the river to double up from Joao Simao.

Shortly after, Alex Foxen flopped a Queen, hitting trips and crushing Jason Koon's Ace, eliminating Koon, who was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame this year.

Besides Alex Foxen, Wilson, and Petrangelo, who just won 2.2 million in the Triton Jeju $150,000 10th Anniversary Special, the final five also include high-stakes poker video blogger Jeremy Ausmus and Adrian Mateos. Mateos currently leads the GPI 2026 money list by a wide margin with 15 million in $ winnings.

Day 3 of SHRB XI will begin at 1 p.m. local time, and PokerGO will start streaming it from 3 p.m.
