The World Poker Tour (WPT) is returning to Australia, taking place from September 10 to 30 at The Star Sydney, with a 21-day schedule featuring 36 tournaments.
The series is headlined by two championship events and includes a women’s exclusive event, satellite tournaments, bounty tournaments, pot-limit Omaha events, and more.
This year's festival will once again center around the A$1,500 WPT Prime Australia Championship and the A$5,000 WPT Australia Championship, both of which will conclude with a live final table.

Sydney's two WPT championship titles
The festival’s first major event is the WPT Prime Australia Championship, which will be held from September 17 to 22.
The competition has four starting groups. Starting on September 17, the contestants will return to the second day on September 21, and the champion will be determined the following day.
Just two days later, the focus will shift to the WPT Australia Championship, which will begin on September 24.
The A$5,000 buy-in tournament also features four starting groups, followed by Day Two on September 27. The tournament will culminate in a televised final table on September 30, where yet another player's name will be engraved on the Mike Sexton WPT Championship Cup.

More than two championship matches

The festival will kick off with the A$1,250 Australian Poker Cup from September 10th to 14th, followed by a packed schedule of events including the A$1,150 Sydney PLO Open, the A$500 Australian Women's Championship, the A$1,350 Mystery Bounty, the A$10,000 WPT Australia High Roller, and the A$5,000 Australian PLO Championship.
Players looking for a more affordable way to participate in the festival’s biggest events can also get plenty of opportunities to compete through the extensive satellite schedule.
Throughout the series, players can compete for slots in several key tournaments, including the Australian Poker Cup, WPT Prime Australia Championship, WPT Australia Championship, Mystery Bounty, Australian PLO Championship, and Mini Championship.
