On August 28th, another million-dollar mega-pot was created on PokerGO's High Stakes Poker livestream. Michael "Texas Mike" Moncek faced off against high-stakes cash game veteran Andrew Robl. Moncek ultimately secured a nut flush on the flop, prompting Robl to pour in a large number of chips on the subsequent streets, resulting in a massive $1,517,500 pot. This hand not only became the highlight of the night but also marked the second-largest non-split pot in High Stakes Poker history. Adding to the drama, Robl seemingly hit his dream straight on the turn, but in reality, he had no equity left. Both players started with over $700,000, and the multi-straddle system propelled the pot to its maximum of $16,000. Therefore, it wasn't surprising that a single hand quickly built into a seven-figure pot. Before the hand began, both Texas Mike and Andrew Robl had over $700,000 on the table, with Robl having slightly more chips. Action was initiated by Sameh Elamawy, a regular on High Stakes Poker and CEO of Scratch. He held A♥5♦ and raised pre-flop to $40,000. Texas Mike called with A♠5♠, while Robl, in the highest straddle position, held 6♣5♥ and also called. The three went to the flop. The flop of 4♠ 2♠ 8♠, Texas Mike immediately made the nut flush. This all-spades flop instantly clarified the situation. Texas Mike's A♠5♠ had already made the Ace-high nut flush. The day's focus was on the Crazy Opening Event's starting groups A and B, which attracted a total of 181 entries, with 23 players ultimately securing their places in the next stage. Chinese player "Pingnan King" Jia Yuequan excelled in Group A, sealing the chip lead with 455,000 chips, becoming the Group A chip leader and winning the exclusive 40 million VND chip prize. In Group B, Vietnamese player DO TRONG TIEN led with 595,000 chips, also earning an additional 40 million VND. Group A saw 101 entries, with 13 players advancing. The Crazy Opening Event Group A began at 10:30 AM local time, and with the registration deadline, a total of 101 entries were recorded. According to the tournament structure, Group A has 16 spots in the money bubble, but only the final 13 players can advance.
